A/Prof Saurabh Gupta
A/Prof Gupta is a Sydney based Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist, and Clinical Associate Professor with the Australian National University. His special interest areas include endoscopic oncology involving pancreatic and biliary disease, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic EUS and ERCP, endoscopic resection of advanced neoplasia, third space endoscopy, and assessment of small bowel disorders.
A/Prof Gupta is strongly committed to clinical endoscopy research, and teaching and training for advanced endoscopy and has both organised and participated in national and international endoscopy training programs. He strives to optimise patient outcomes using minimally invasive techniques.
A/Prof Gupta is also passionate about obesity endotherapy and is the ANZ clinical lead for the Overstitch Endoscopic Suturing System. He convened Australia’s first Bariatric and Metabolic Endoscopy Symposium in 2018 at the Sydney Adventist Hospital demonstrating advances in bariatric endoscopy.
A/Prof Gupta is immediate past Head of Gastroenterology and current Clinical Director of the Division of Medicine at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. He is an Executive Committee member of the Endoscopy Faculty with the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) and a member of the Scientific Program Committee for Australian Gastroenterology Week 2024.
