Dr Sasha Fehily

Sasha Fehily is a gastroenterologist subspecialising in inflammatory bowel diseases with a particular focus on gastrointestinal microbiome. She completed her medical degree with First Class Honours at Monash University (2012). During physician training at Alfred Health, she completed a Masters of Public Health with Distinction from the University of Newcastle (2015) and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2017. After completing Gastroenterology training in 2019, she completed her PhD through the University of Melbourne supported by an NHMRC Post-Graduate Scholarship (2020-2024), and Intestinal Sonography training (GENIUS and IBUS accredited). Her doctoral research examined microbial therapy in Crohn's disease, which involved leading Australia's largest faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) clinical trial in Crohn's disease. She currently holds a consultant gastroenterologist appointment at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, combining clinical practice with research innovation in microbial modulating therapeutics.
