Dr Lincon Stamp

Dr Stamp is a Group Leader in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Melbourne. His PhD research (Monash University) focused on the derivation of hepatopancreatic progenitors from human embryonic stem cells. He then joined the lab of Dr Don Newgreen at the MCRI where he worked on development of the enteric nervous system (ENS), before joining Prof Heather Young’s lab at the University of Melbourne, where he focused on developing stem cell therapy to treat gut motility disorders such as Hirschsprung disease. Dr Stamp’s lab, which he runs together with Dr Marlene Hao, focuses on the intersection of stem cell biology, enteric neuroscience and gut physiology, to drive their translational gastrointestinal research programs investigating plasticity in the ENS, cell and gene therapies, and the impacts of environmental pollutants on the gut. Dr Stamp is the current President of the Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research (ASSCR).
