Dr Jessica Howell
Dr Jessica Howell MBBS(Hons) FRACP PhD is a gastroenterologist, NHMRC Early Career Fellow at Burnet Institute and Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University and University of Melbourne. She combines clinical, basic science, epidemiological and public health expertise in translational research projects in health system change, focused on marginalized populations including people who inject drugs. She is an emerging leader in viral hepatitis and liver cancer research, leading national and international multicentre studies in rapid point-of-care diagnostics in viral hepatitis and biomarker development in liver cancer. She has 40 peer-reviewed publications, 58 abstracts presented at national and international meetings, > $900,000 in competitive grant funding (CI), invited plenary speaker and invited panel for multiple national and international clinical guidelines..
