Dr Goran Mitreski

Dr Mitreski is a dual-trained Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist at The Northern Hospital, Victoria. After advanced fellowships at the Austin Hospital—Victoria’s premier transplant centre—he has established a subspecialty practice in liver imaging and image-guided treatment of both malignant and benign hepatobiliary disease.  At The Northern, Dr Mitreski led the expansion of portal-hypertension services to meet rising hepatoma and HPB referral volumes, streamlining care pathways through enhanced multidisciplinary collaboration. He was also instrumental in launching one of Victoria’s first dedicated pulmonary-embolism response teams, introducing cutting-edge large-bore mechanical thrombectomy for acute PE and significantly improving patient outcomes. An engaged medical educator and convenor for IRSA 2025, he holds teaching appointments at the University of Melbourne, serves as Education Lead for Northern Imaging Victoria, and is Deputy Director for Radiology Training in the unit. Dr Mitreski looks forward to sharing his insights in advanced liver imaging to the GESA 2025 audience.
