Prof Georgina Hold

Prof Hold is an internationally accredited clinical microbiome researcher with >25 years of experience working in Australia, USA and Europe. She is also an alumni Fulbright Scholar (Harvard University, 2014/2015). Her research has resulted in numerous invited reviews and original research publications with >24,000 citations and an h-index of 65. She has extensive experience designing, managing and running multi-disciplinary research studies and the associated data analysis, as well as the coordination of investigators, clinicians, policy makers, community stakeholders and researchers. Prof Hold has highly developed skills in the establishment of new research programmes including management and analysis of complex datasets. Since arriving at Australia in late 2017, they have set up Sydney+ IBD Research Consortia and initiated the inaugural Australian IBD Microbiome (AIM) Study, which has recruited over 1100 participants since it was established in 2019. Prof Hold is experienced in navigating the complexities of multi-centre research studies. They have an excellent working knowledge of gut health, gut microbiota and big data analysis. Prof Hold has strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the clinical microbiome field nationally and globally.
