Dr Ayesha Shah

Dr Ayesha Shah is a consultant gastroenterologist at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow. She also holds a senior lecturer position at the University of Queensland. Her research interests predominantly focus on characterising the role of the gut microbiome in health and gastrointestinal diseases, and she has on the Asian Pacific Consensus Guideline Working Group on small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Dr. Shah serves on the Metro South Human Research Ethics Committee and is a member of the Luminal Faculty of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
